Gottschalk, 89, formerly of Darien, Wis., will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, at United Church of Christ- Congregational, Delavan, Wis., with the Rev. Laura McLeod officiating. Burial will be in Darien Cemetery, Darien, Wis. Born Oct. 31, 1918, in Lake Zurich, the son of Louis and Emma (nee Heinson) Gottschalk, he passed away Saturday, May 10, 2008, at the Willowfield Nursing Home in Delavan. He married Doris Bethel on April 7, 1945, in Lake Zurich, she passed away Jan. 3, 1990. Earl was the owner and operator of the Darien Elevator Feed Mill in Darien, Wis. for many years. He was an active member of the United Church of Christ-Congregational in Delavan. He is survived by his son, Michael Gottschalk of St. Charles; four grandchildren, Tom Gottschalk of Darien, Shannon (Jimmy) De Persia of Palatine, Michael Gottschalk of Chicago and Nikki Paddock of Elkhorn, Wis.; three great-grandchildren, Dylan, Nora and Izabel; his nieces and nephews; and his dear friends, Cindy and Rob Paddock. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris; and two brothers, Clarence and Elmer. Memorials may be made to the United Church of Christ-Congregational. Monroe Funeral Home, Delavan, 262- 728-3353, is assisting the family.
