Charles A. Taege, Sr. Obituary Newspaper Was born Jun 29, 1828, at Paplitz, Ziecar, Prussia. He married Miss Alice Cramer, May 2, 1854. They immediately emigrated to America, stopped a short time in New York, then came to Chicago. Located at East Wheeling and later settled at Long Grove. He moved in 1865 to Arlington Heights, where he had a hardware store owner over 25 years and spent the last 41 years of his life. His wife died Feb 21, 1901. He left July 12 to visit his son A.W. Taege at Cedar Rapids, where he died of heart trouble, July 20 1906, aged 78 years and one month. The body was brought back and the funeral tood place from the home of his son Emil Taege to St. Peter's Lutheran church, of which he was one of the charter members, Wednesday afternoon; burial at Arlington Heights Cemetary.
